Seasonal Instructor

We are a small centre with a BIG operation; peak season is usually 400 – 700 people a day! We run a combination of land and water-based activities, all at our centre, based on the River Thames. 

Our bread and butter is schools, youth and faith organisations and general public, we facilitate our visitors requests with day visits, residential experiences, taster sessions, birthday parties and NGB courses. 

 

We run: Off ground activities - Climbing, High Ropes and Giant Swing. Water based activities - SUP, Kayak, Canoe, Dragon Boat, Bell Boat, Raft Build. And our land-based activities include Water Orbs, Laser Tag, Trebuchet, Orienteering, Team Challenge, Nightline and Wide Games.   

 

Who are we looking for? 

  • Highly motivated, energetic, and enthusiastic team members who are willing to share their knowledge with our team. 

  • Seasoned instructors who thrive in high-paced environments. 

  • Creative thinkers, if you are an instructor who wants to develop your skills to progress into a more senior role; this is the centre for you. Our instructors are heavily involved in the daily operation of the centre, if you have ideas that you wish to implement, we will listen. 

Essential 

  • British Canoeing Paddlesports Instructor Award, or equivalent 

  • ERCA Traditional High Ropes Instructor, or equivalent 

  • Minimum of two seasons experience at a multi activity centre 

  • First Aid 

  • Safeguarding 

Desirable 

  • BDA Dragon Boat Helm 

  • RYA Powerboat level 2 

On offer 

  • Season runs from 1st March – 31st October [contract extensions or shorter contracts available] 

  • Single occupancy accommodation available with a reduced rent + NMW / NLW, fantastic CPD and networking opportunities 

  • No day is the same, we do not run taster sessions all day, all season.

Trainee Instructor

We are now recruiting our Trainee Instructor Team for 2025 Summer Season, to work alongside our seasonal instructor team, leading and assisting with a large variety of adventurous activities to deliver the very best product to our guests. 

 

Positions are available from 1st March – 31st October. You will work 40 hours per week over 5 days, including weekends and evenings. Subsidized accommodation is available on site. 

DO YOU WANT TO EARN WHILE YOU LEARN? 

You will learn the skills and techniques required to teach others how to participate safely in adventurous activities whilst having fun. This role is a good opportunity for anyone with an interest or personal experience in the outdoor industry and looking for a chance to get their foot in the door.

Cook/Deputy Catering Manager

Key Tasks:

  • prepare and cook a wide variety of meals for staff and visitors.

  • be confident and competent in cleaning, maintaining accurate records in line with the latest government guidelines and following all HACCP/ H&S protocols and procedures;

  • preparing and serving meals and refreshments from our mobile unit

  • keeping an eye on food stock levels and reporting to line manager when purchases necessary

  • ensuring that the shop is well stocked with sweets, drinks and snacks

 

All team members are expected to embrace the cultures and values of the organisation and support the team to achieve the objectives of the organisation.

 

Qualities

  • be flexible, have stamina, enthusiasm and be able to work as part of a team;

  • have a passion for helping people and charitable pursuits;

  • kitchen experience required (1 year +)

  • barista trained (preferable);

  • be customer facing, showing the best you can for our brand and ethos at all times;

 

Key Performance Measures

·       Ensure a high customer service rating from all visitors

·       Increase catering sales

 

Contract Information

Seasonal contract to commence March and finish end of October.  Based at Longridge. Work 40 hours per week, which may include bank holidays, weekends and evenings.  Salary package, plus on-site accommodation.
